Friendship has to be cultivated like a garden: that's what Annamaria Russo believes and practices.

Communicating her emotions through art makes her happy, "...Feeling inside history and harmonizing with nature..." (Pierre Restany, 29th April 2003). QThis is just what Pierre Restany believes in. Annamaria Russo met him and was encouraged to persevere in her exemplary and authentic artistic research. In the past, her lively "palette" painting was the symbol of her desire of a dynamic expression, of the evocation of her childwood memories.

In 2002, when , by wax pastels, she drew mythical figures in the cycle of the archeological site of Stablae, the great historical past involved her. Wall paper scraps, destined to be thrown away, have become the occasion to create a large cycle of collages: a ground to express with artistry her playful nature and give life to fantastic figures, sometimes only rhythmical geometries, somerimes living and real images.

Recently she has found some plastic cuttings, coming from industrial working and, attracted by their colours, has started to put them together aiming to create free compositions where the circle always appears. The exibition is a harmonious whole of symbols and figures in works that are evidence of Annamaria's artistic feeling twards the events of our historical time. Particularly meaningful are the big arrows that seem to indicate, with strong and peremtory mark, how necessary it is to wonder about the changing of our planet.
