In line with one among the main purposes of FIDAPA (Italian Federation Women Arts Professions Business), afferent to the international IBPW, that foresees the valorisation of the provinces of that women who works in the social, cultural and artistic field, I'm very honoured and pleased to present Annamaria Russo's works.

I have been living from long time in Castellammare di Stabia, also if I was born in Rome, and in one of my travels there, also meeting the active FIDAPA divisions of the capital, I have known the artist and her works. In particular made a deep impression on me her sensibility towards the classical world and I appreciated her artistic expressiveness in the reviewing that in 1999 She made of the works from Barracco Museum in Rome.

So, I suddenly took the opportunity to invite her to interpret Stabiae frescoes, for two reasons: Annamaria Russo has Samnite origins and She has attempted the Accademia di Belle Arti in Naples with Rosalba Spagnuolo, testified by the freegift portrait done in 1964 when She was her guest in Castellammare di Stabia. Secondly, like we all know, the main Stabiae frescoes are in the Archaeological Museum in Nap for that reason the Stabiae villas visitors cannot visit them during the archaeological iter and so few of them go for this to the respective museums.

I'm pleased that Annamaria Russo has agreed to my invitation; visiting the exhibition you can catch the great emotionality that gleams through her works that do us relive Roman Empire ancient brightness.

During the exhibition will be shown some photos of the original frescoes, some of which will be given to the Stabiae site for a permanent exposition. I show all my gratitude for the collaboration to professor Pagano, Stabiae excavation director, professor Etlin from the University of Maryland, vicepresident of RAS foundation and all the clubs that have agreed to the initiative.

I think that the contribution has been incisive to the diffusion of RAS project that foresees the renewal of Stabiae excavation and the urban readjustment of Castellammare di Stabia.
