The exhibition that here is presented will offer to the visitors a very good occasion to refound Annamaria Russo's work especially in the more recent ones, result of a great care that the artist has dedicated to her work.
The plexiglasses, as well as the engravings and, as usual, the drawings, derive from years of uninterrupted activity - from the beginnings, very young Capogrossi's apprentice, until the riper results of a painting of matter made of tonal passages influenced by Italian abstractionism suggestion of 5O's but also by the historical experience of the "Scuola Romana" until the echo of the late 70's culture - lived with a rare determination trying to state, step by step, the results of an uninterrupted research work by which She noted all the "physical" possibilities of the materials that She tested little by little.
I know that others have written about her artisticaliter, and so I would like to understress another aspect of her operosity, that one we all have appreciated in Galleria - Annamaria Russo has been involved since years in the collaboration with as much as quickness and personal sacrifice to most of the activities that the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna promotes -: the teaching of historical art. Tireless and sure of the importance that this doctrine has in the training of teenaged apprentices along their own formative route, Annamaria has walked many times the rooms of our Museum sure about her certainty to be able to give, even if just in part, her passion for this doctrine that has marked her life, first studying it with engagement then testing it with strictness.
So it's the case, that one of Annamaria Russo, of a coherent and passionate life, where She has been able to combine, with the same urgency in working, the research of her own artistic dimension and the as well as important work to invest on the youngest generations, future users of our museums and, we wish, sure keepers of a knowing of a legacy so vast and never enough studied.
